Boost your immune system with natural quinine.

Hydroxcholorquinine has been buzzing around the past 18 months, it is basically quinine, which is found in the chichona bark, tonic water and in grapefruits as far as I am aware. Quinine is an age old remedy. I first came across it when travelling to India taking it due to malaria being in the area I was travelling in. It has many applications that go beyond malaria.

Here is an easy simple recipe for a natural form of quinine, that I have made at home. Any time I feel a cold or chesty cough or just feeling under the weather I start taking it.

Ingredients:

2-3 organic lemons

2-3 organic grapefruits.

8-10cups water

1. Wash them well as there are organic pesticides these days. Rinse in warm water to remove any wax. I do this even if they are not waxed.

2. Then wash in a mix of white vinegar and sodium bicarbonate.

3. Once clean and dry peel of the outer layer. This what you need. I used a peeler to peel off the outer layer, including the white pith. Or just peel the peel off if that is easier.

3. Next put it in a saucepan cover with water, 8-10 cups of water.

4. Bring to boil and then let simmer for 2 hours. Keep the lid on all the time as otherwise the quinine escapes in the steam.

5. After two hours, switch off the heat and leave to cool for as long as you need to for it to be cool.

6. An alternative is to use a pressure cooker, I used an Instapot, had it pressure cook for 20minutes and then left it to cool over night.

7. Once cool, strain it and put into jars to use. You could keep one in the fridge and the rest in the freezer to use as need be.

8. I have taken a table spoon every couple of hours when not feeling so great, and outside of that take it once a day or every other day.

If you do decide to try it, I would love to hear how you get on.
