Being mental health week, I feel it is important to share that being authentic and real is the healthiest thing one can cultivate and grow into to me mentally and emotionally healthy.
There is so much talked and shared about being better, being positive, being happy, fake it until you make it etc. This is not a successful route to mental health and well being.

For me the most important thing is to be real. To learn to be real. To be honest with yourself how you feel and to be okay with that without needing to change it. Accepting how we feel and expressing our feelings and emotions in healthy ways is what needs to be shared for mental health to improve.
If you are experiencing sadness and have tears and cry in expressing sadness that is okay. It is not better to avoid the tears, it is actually healthier to feel the emotions and express the emotions than to suppress them and pretend to be happy.
The best thing one can do is learn to be real, not better or worse, good or bad, happy or sad, but real.
Healing is not learning to avoid and suppress the parts of you that you were taught were unloveable.
Healing is learning to love the parts of you that you were taught were unloveable.
It is time to be authentic and stop pretending to be something you are not. You came into this life to be you just they way you are. There is no one on this planet like you and there is not meant to be. So stop trying to fit in and be like you've been told to me, by family, friends, social media etc. and choose instead to be you, authentically you.
Be authentically you.
