How good can it get?!

I was listening to a podcast with a lady called Cynthia Lawson and she shared this sentence, that she says, whatever is going on and it really works for her. The phrase she shared is “How good can it get?”. She says this to herself a lot and has wonderful experiences. So I decided to try it.

I started to use it daily. Saying it as and when it came to me. Remembering it when I felt challenged or intense situations arose that I needed to manage. I just had it on repeat in my mind at times. I have found I feel more peaceful within during challenging situations. It keeps my focus, how good can it get, rather than anything else, and solutions and resolutions come, manifest!
It is not that I don’t take action, I do taken whatever inspired action comes to me to address the situation, whilst keeping in my mind, “How good can it get?” And what can I tell you is that things just work out, get good.
For example, one morning the boiler did not start when I turned the thermostat up. No heating, no hot water, and it was cold and frosty outside and it was 5.30am! I could feel the anxiety creeping up in me.
I thought it is December who is going to come 2 weeks before Christmas. As soon as I heard myself say that, I said to myself, stop delete. I remembered Cynthia’s phrase and started to say, “How good can it get? How good can it get?” It was on repeat in my head!
I looked up gas engineers. I called the two that had serviced the boiler previously. One was on a train miles away and the other went to voicemail. I was feeling anxious to say the least. Wondering what has happened to the boiler and it was working fine the previous evening.
Then I messaged a couple of local friends to see if they had any recommendations. I left another three voicemails for various gas engineers and then the fourth answered the phone! Just to hear a voice felt amazing! I was pleasantly surprised he answered. I explained what had happened and asked if he could help me with this.
He started to ask me questions about the boiler, so I went to the boiler and began looking for the things he was asking me to find and gave him the reading of the pressure gauge. He told me to very gently and slowly turn the lever, he had helped me locate, and to stop turning once the pressure gauge started to move. He talked me through a few things, and guess what! It started! The boiler started! How good can it get! It can get really good as it did. Freezing cold morning, and the boiler started! I had heating and hot water! What a wonderful gift! How good can it get!
I had another experience with a water leak, called 3 builders, ones quote was way too much. From the other two that came to have a look one could not come back as he got sick and then other didn’t come when he said he would and did not return my voicemail. Yes, I experienced disappointment and frustration. Inspite of the disappointment I kept in my mind, “How good can it get?” A couple of days later I had the idea to post a message out on a social group I am on to ask if any one had any recommendations, so I did. There was no response. I was wondering what to do next. Seemed all the builders were on big jobs and not interested in this or did not have space for it. I kept saying to myself, How good can it get? How good can it get!
A couple of days later I checked the social group for what was on that weekend and to my suprise I had a reply! I immediately called the recommended builder and he answered! He came the next day as it was dry to see the roof and the chimney. We agreed on the work that needed to be done and a price and a day for the work to be done weather permitting.
If you are in England you know how wet it has been and we needed atleast a couple of dry days. He came on the 24th December! And by lunch time the job was done! How good can it get!
Keeping the phrase, How good can it get? In the forefront of my mind, I know contributed to these outcomes and more than I have experienced.
So I wanted to share it with you, as it can work for you too!
How good can it get?!
I invite you to start saying it to yourself. In your head or outlaid and see what happens. Keep doing it, don’t give up.
And, if you use it, I would love to hear from you. I would love to hear your experience and your stories from using it.
Wishing you joyous peaceful and harmonious day!
Take good care.
Enjoy the day.
With love and gratitude,
Dhriti
